"Red balloons fall from the sky"

The Republic of San Marino is a small happy island which, thanks to its neutrality, has not yet been touched by the horrors of war. But the June 26, 1944, a little girl sees some red balloons coming down from the sky. It's the signal that something terrible and unexpected is about to happen.

The bombing, i one hundred thousand displaced in the train tunnels and the stories, sometimes sad but, more often, curious and full of hope of hundreds of Jews who were saved thanks to the generosity of an entire people.

The visit includes activities involving children/young people through short readings of testimonies and the delivery of a "memory box” in which the children will be able to insert their thoughts to continue the in-depth work even at school.
